Closing

Edit....Thank you all so much for your kind comments. There are all sorts of reasons for a plan not to come to fruition.
For many different reasons we are not now buying the house that we saw recently.
Health problems is one of the reasons.
We know that there is a plan for us, but it will take time to unfold. To be honest, selling and buying at the same time, in two different countries, was getting to be a huge worry. I was spinning too many plates in the air.
As we get nearer to leaving France I know that I have little time to spend writing, so I'll be closing down until we get into England. I'll have a little roam amongst your blogs from time to time, and look forward to seeing you later in the year.

Spring colour

There is , at last, some colour coming in the garden.

This beautiful Hellebore is like a creamy cushion. I'm hoping to take it with me when we leave. It has travelled through three houses with us.

The Camellias are just coming into flower after a long battle with frosty mornings.

My two pots of Iris are looking so pretty. I planted miniature daffodils in the pots as well, so hope they will soon emerge.

When our house purchase is a bit further on, I will post more about it.

Estate agents....

Estate agents...we've seen them all during the last two weeks!

Now that we have sold our French house, we felt it was time to go over to England and start our own search.

The brief given to our agents...many and various, was simple. Bungalow (preferably)or house which would take a stair lift, no major repairs needed, in a village with a shop and Dr's surgery, giving a choice of three or four villages.

We were presented with details for town houses, houses high on a hill, three storey houses, houses which were a major project.....and so on. The one thing these agents had in common was , seemingly, their age. They almost all looked about eighteen, were 'cool' and usually addressed me by my Christian name.

However, the search paid off and we have found a house that we feel will be just right. Now comes the waiting.
