Well, mostly recipes for making Chutney, bottling tomatoes etc
but I do have a small pile of books which I dip into when I can.
The top one is a very old book and I think it is a sort of 'comfort read',
a bit like comfort food.
It's 'A Little Princess,' by Frances Hodgson Burnett,
who of course wrote the classic 'Secret Garden'.
It takes me back many years.
Then there is 'What God does when women pray',
by Evelyn Christenson, a book that I read in short bursts, and
find inspirational. I will be hosting a ladies Prayer Lunch at Church soon
and this book gives me thoughts to share.
Maeve Binchy...well, always a happy read.
And the last is a new one by the author of 'The Historian',
called 'The Swan Thieves'. It didnt have brilliant reviews on Amazon,
but I found it very interesting, though perhaps a little
long winded occasionally.
Underneath all of the books there is, of course,
Country Homes and Interiors.
Can't do without it!
