A friend dropped by for Coffee this morning,
unexpectedly, but very welcome.
I have a preference for coffee in pretty mugs, and
they have to be Bone China.
They are called 'Sorilla Blue'
(which I did read as Gorilla blue to begin with)
I use them when a friend comes by,
and somehow the coffee tastes even better!
These are lovely 'gorilla' mugs! Very pretty.
ReplyDeletebeautiful mugs. and they go so well with the tablecloth! enjoy your coffee!
ReplyDeleteI love china .I hate porcelain , my reckoning is they make toilets from porcelain .
ReplyDeleteWithout a shadow of doubt china is the vessel for drinking from .
I like my dinner plates to be earthenware . So good to put in the oven to warm or to bake pies on . They take heat very well
Lovely beakers--cottonreel
Seriously beautiful. Perfect for Typhoo...
ReplyDeleteSorry - that should have been PG Tips!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty mugs. Hugs
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I have different mugs for different drinks...Paddington Bear for hot chocolate, red poppy china for tea, etc! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm catching up on your recent posts- it has been a civilised week or so chez toi! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThey may have come from Sainsburys Supermarket, but Sorilla is a well respected floral print by Sanderson. You should probably use them for Earl Grey and other upmarket brews!!
ReplyDeleteI am still in the land of the chunky staff room pot mugs. Why are all those "World's Best Teacher" ones given as Christmas gifts so unutterably thick and ugly?
What pretty gorilla mugs you have.
ReplyDelete:-) They make you want to go out in the garden.
Thanks for the hellebores link. Today I noticed there are many more blooms in mine and I was just thrilled. I had to think of you when I saw them.
Hugs from Holland ~

Those are so lovely!! I agree--coffee and tea taste so much better when served in pretty cups!
ReplyDeleteThey are so pretty. I can't drink out of anything but china these days (well, I don't mind a glass for wine!) and it does make everything taste so much better.
ReplyDeleteReally pretty mugs - I have my favourite ones, for different times of the day!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful, Elizabeth! I have always loved blue flowers on any china or home decor items. Years ago, I had the blessing of working for Royal Doulton at a shop in Tennessee. We now have quite a collection of teacups and beakers that we treasure with our Earl Grey and Lady Grey teas.
ReplyDeleteI'm certain that whatever you drank out of those mugs would taste lovely, especially in the atmosphere of the beautiful tablecloth. Thank you for a spot of beauty and hospitality.
ReplyDeleteThere's nowt like a china cup for a good brew.
ReplyDelete....anything but a paper cup, I hate them and always insist I'm served my coffee or tea in a mug when at Starbucks, Panera Bread etc.
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely - I so enjoy visiting Sainsbury's when I go home - I even love their magazine with all those fab recipes!
